General Information of Siem Reap Province
Siem Reap is about 250km away from Phnom Penh to northeast and at north
side of Lake Tonle Sap. By plane, it takes 45 min. from Phnom Penh, 1 hr.
from Bangkok, Thailand and 1.5 hrs. from Hochi Minh, Vietnam. It takes
about 6 hrs. from Phnom Penh by bus. It is quite a long drive, but on the
way you can enjoy fine views of coconut trees on the horizon.
This small city is the base for sightseeing of Angkor ruins. Despite the
rapid change by increasing new hotels, modern restaurants and cafes, this
city comforts people who visit different from Phnom Penh. Angkor Wat is
located about 3km away from the center of the city.
